1977 Sercial

The 1977 Sercial, bottled in 2017, has a deep amber hue. The nose is quite simple and slightly peaty, displaying a discreet sea influence and an unwanted mustiness that cannot be ignored. And that seems to knock the palate off center; it is rather bitter and shallow on the entry, with a cardboard-like note that dries the finish. I expected more from this.
