Note di degustazione
The 2019 Cabernet Franc Gran Enemigo Los Chacayes incorporates 15% Malbec and originates from the eponymous area within the Uco Valley. It underwent a 15-month aging process in used foudres . Deep purple color. The nose reveals captivating notes of ashes, pepper and jarilla, intermingled with cassis and plums against a cedar backdrop. The palate presents a dry and abundant character, with a juicy and taut profile that is subtly overwhelming yet offers a long-lasting, agile, thyme-infused flow. This is a rare and alluring high-altitude red.

The velvety and elegant 2019 Gran Enemigo Chacayes Single Vineyard shows a quality of tannins that I did not see in the 2018 or 2020, with a silky texture, pungent flavors and a lively mouthfeel. I think the highlight here is the texture and quality of tannins, which are so perfectly refined and ripe. This is balanced, tasty and savory, with no room for sweetness. These are some serious reds. 7,200 bottles were filled in July 2020.
