Note di degustazione
Opaque violet color. Highly perfumed, spice-accented cherry, violet and licorice scents, along with olive, vanilla and woodsmoke notes. Palate-coating cassis, bitter cherry, floral pastille and fruitcake flavors show excellent depth and are supported by an undercurrent of juicy acidity. Expands steadily with air and finishes impressively long and precise, with building tannins and strong, floral- and spice-driven persistence.

More iron oxide, ground pepper, smoke, and crushed stone notes emerge from the 2019 Côte Rôtie Les Grandes Places, another incredibly powerful, concentrated, structured wine from this estate. Full-bodied and tannic, with good freshness and acidity, this has all the right components and is going to round into form in 3-5 years and I suspect evolve gracefully for 20-25 years.
A dark, tannic effort, Pichat's 2019 Cote Rotie Les Grandes Places boasts impressive levels of concentration. It starts off almost floral on the nose, with overtones of mint and blackberries, while the medium to full-bodied palate is dense and compact, framed by serious tannins that will need several years to soften.
