Note di degustazione
Bottled in late December 2017, the 2015 Savennières Les Genêts is from sandy soils covering gray schist. Fermented and aged in 400-liter barrels (three to 10 years old), this is a quite lactic-flavored Chenin sourced predominantly from two plots north of Savennières. Fermented until May (including the malolactic), this is a full-bodied, elegant and well-structured Chenin with power, concentration, grip and vitality. The finish is quite salty and the tannins are a bit biting, but there is tension and minerality, which guarantees good aging in the bottle. There was some rainstorm during the harvest time. "Strangely, there was no botrytis coming up by this storm," says Damien. "It was important to harvest early to keep the freshness in 2015," he adds.
