Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2024-2034, Yohan Castaing, Wine Advocate, Aug 2024

The 2016 Chateau Montus exhales a fresh, dense bouquet of dark wild berries, menthol, spices and flowers. Medium to full-bodied, it is somewhat less structured than Bouscassé Vieilles Vignes, presenting a round and enveloping texture with a delicate, fleshy core of fruit, bright acids and powdery tannins. Comprising 80% Tannat and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, it concludes with a long, tense finish and an ethereal aftertaste.

Punteggio 17/20 · Da bere 2021-2033, Jancis Robinson MW, Feb 2021

Tannat with Cabernet Sauvignon on slopes with rounded pebbles. Three- to six-week fermentation/maceration and then aged for 12 to 14 months in barriques (80% new). Healthy, not impenetrable crimson. Attractive amalgam of aromas in the ripe, intense Cabernet-family spectrum. Then really quite luscious fruit on the palate with only light grip on the finish. Light meatiness round a firm spine. Very fresh and already broachable – with food. (JR)
