The 2020 Saint-Péray Fleur De Crussol (100% Marsanne) is showing beautifully from bottle, with lots of ripe apple, citrus, sappy herbs, and spicy nuances to go with a medium-bodied, layered style on the palate. The Ongrie is slightly more complex, but this is perfectly balanced, has integrated acidity, and a great finish revealing plenty of salinity and subtle minerality. As with the Ongrie, give it a year of bottle age and it will keep through 2028+.

The 2020 Saint Peray Fleur de Crussol—from 80-year-old Marsanne vines—is more typical Saint-Péray than the Ongrie bottling, offering up more subdued pear and melon aromas. Vinified and matured in a similar mix of 228-liter and 400-liter barrels (30% new), it's medium to full-bodied, ripe and round, charming and easy to drink, with a splash of lime on the long finish.
100% Marsanne. Nose creamy and full with a stone-fruit touch. Rich and nuanced on the palate. Touch of oak to give it breadth and depth. Quite fat and warm. Lacks a little freshness. Definitely needs food. (JL)
