Punteggio 91/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Nov 2022

The base 2021 Tavel is another winner. More framboise, raspberry, and exotic flower notes define the aromatics, and it's medium-bodied on the palate, with bright acidity, terrific balance, and some obvious minerality on the finish. It's another winner. Looking at the vintages reviewed here, the estate compared 2020 to a mix of 2019 and 2018, commenting that their 2020s were less concentrated than their 2019s, which I wholeheartedly agree with, although I feel their 2020s still have plenty of structure. The 2021s show the fresher style of the vintage but don’t lack ripeness and have plenty of texture. As usual, all of these wines are impeccably made and worth seeking out.

Punteggio 16/20 · Da bere 2024-2029, Alistair Cooper MW, jancisrobinson.com, Sep 2022

60% Grenache, 10% Cinsault, 10% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, 5% Bourboulenc, 5% Clairette. Matured in stainless-steel tanks. Tasted blind. Nectarine and peach with watermelon beneath. Lots of acidity and quite firm tannins give the wine structure. A bit introverted and needs some time. Finishes fresh with good minerality. (AC)
