Punteggio 93/100 · James Suckling, Mar 2022

I love the combination of ripeness and freshness in this sophisticated and very elegant Morgon, which does a very good job in hiding its substantial tannin structure. Quite a firm finish that will need some time to marry with the deep red-fruit character. Drinkable now, but best from 2024.

Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2023-2042, Neal Martin, Aug 2021

The 2020 Morgon Les Charmes comes from Burgaud’s hectare of vines and was bottled in mid-May. Quite deep and initially broody on the nose, it opens to reveal black plum, crushed strawberry, blood orange and light granite aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fleshy and generous, so much so that it belies that backbone on the finish. This might close down after a year or so; otherwise, cellar it for 2–3 years before acquainting yourself with its charms (no pun intended).

The 2020 Morgon Les Charmes wafts from the glass with aromas of cherries, cassis, sweet soil tones, violets and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and vibrant, with a fleshy core of fruit, ripe tannins and lively acids, it's nicely concentrated, concluding with a long, perfumed finish.
