There’s bright and vibrant red cherry fruit on the nose, with a lovely peppery edge and seamless balance on the palate. There’s great mid-palate depth and wonderful concentration of red fruit, perfectly balanced by great acidity. There is classic Marsannay sweetness and this is so good to drink now with those smooth tannins – it’s open for business, but has everything needed to evolve in bottle. A great Marsannay.

Cask sample. Very pale crimson. Much more complex nose than the Marie Ragonneau bottling. Real bite and length. Fresh, impressively persistent finish with some spiciness. (JR)
Cask sample. Lightish cherry red – sweeter and more red-fruited than the Longeroies. Deep, juicy and already delicious. Tannins are extremely fine and build quietly on the finish. (JH)
