These are some of David’s oldest vines – averaging 70 years in age. As with other producers, he was struck by hail in Gevrey-Chambertin, reducing volumes significantly. The resulting wine is a dark and spicy expression of the village with a firm iron edge that complements the lush, juicy fruit. Vibrant with seamless tannins and blackberry fruit, this is an expressive 2021 that combines a brooding sensitivity with the transparency of the vintage.
