The 2019 Terres Rouges is a very firm, 50% whole cluster wine that's as tight as your trouser belt after completing a 10-course degustation menu. It's smoky and lightly leathery which has me wondering if there's a touch of brett.

Certified organic. 15-year-old Cabernet Franc. Whole-bunch vinification. Aged 18 months in concrete tank. Slightly funky and reductive on the nose. Suave and round on the palate but less freshness and drive than Les Poyeux. Earthy, red-fruit notes with a hint of liquorice. Difficult to gauge the evolution. (JL)
