Note di degustazione
The 2019 Côte de Brouilly Cuvée Zaccharie is a selection of the best fruit raised in barriques for around 10–12 months, after which there is a second selection. It sports an intense nose, but the fruit is still cloaked in oak at the moment (though a judicious 10% is used). The palate is very smooth and harmonious, displaying fine acidity and plush blackberry and raspberry flavors intermingling with black pepper and vanilla. Ripe and caressing in texture on the finish. This will benefit from 3–4 years in bottle. I like the Cuvée Zaccharie, although I feel that the La Chapelle just conveys more Beaujolais DNA.

The 2019 Côte de Brouilly Cuvée Zaccharie Geoffrey is raised in barrels, which always seem to mark the wine more than one would expect purely based on the numbers, as the percentage of new wood is very small. Offering up aromas of cherries, cassis, warm spices and vanilla pod, it's medium to full-bodied, lively and seamless, with powdery tannins and an oak-inflected finish.
