Note di degustazione
Taken from an oak demi-muid, the 1960 Rivesaltes has a relatively deep color with slight turbidity. The nose is quite intense with black currant, fig and marmalade scents that open nicely in the glass. The palate is a little chewy on the entry. This has structure with assertive grip, a little drier and more masculine than the 1959 with a Morel-tinged finish. This Rivesaltes is more serious compared to the ’59, but personally I can see it working well as a food match rather than a VdN to imbibe on its own. Perhaps it just needs a little more persistency, but otherwise this is very fine. Drink now-2020+

Not bottled. Very dark and dense. Dark brown wth a marmalade rim. Mahogany. Rich and thick and a little rancio. Very sweet and spicy – reminds me a bit of something Italian – or even malaga. Dry finish – a tad severe. (JR)
