Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2023-2030, Stephan Reinhardt, Wine Advocate, Mar 2023

From younger vines in the Dhroner Hofberg and bottled with moderate 11.5% stated alcohol, the 2019 Pinot Noix from Daniel Twardowski opens with a pure, deep, fresh and reductive, even slightly bloody nose of red fruits, crushed slate and floral notes. With lots of aeration, let's say a day, red cassis and candied cherry aromas emerge, giving a charmingly fruity nose that integrates the rough slate purity perfectly well. Silky, lush and fresh on the palate, this is a light to medium-bodied and tensioned Pinot with fine tannins and sour cherry and again cassis aromas toward the finish, which is clear and cleansing, precisely marked by its refreshing crystalline, saline and mouth-tickling slate terroir. It's a very pleasant even if not really complex Pinot Noir from the Mosel that is a kind of third wine from Twardowski after the Ardoise and the Hofberg Réserve. All Pinots are aged for 18 months in mostly used barriques. Natural cork. Tasted in March 2023.

Punteggio 16/20 · Da bere 2024-2027, Jancis Robinson MW, Jan 2023

Debut cuvée of wine from vines under 11 years old. Cyrielle Rousseau suggested eliminating younger vines from the Ardoise blend and Daniel T thinks it has improved it considerably. Light nose with hints of green and quite a bit of acidity. Really quite tart. (JR)
