2019 Pinot Noir Oregon

25% of this property was farmed organically by Results Partners in 2019, full organic conversion happened in 2020. Harvested from 20 September to 7 October. LIVE-certified.  Pale ruby in colour. Barely ripe red cherry, spicy green stemminess, wet leaves, potting soil. The palate for this wine is somehow both restrained on fruit and lean, but warming. The flavour sits like a marble in the middle of your mouth with only a bark-like bitterness expanding to the edges of your tongue … returning 20 minutes later, the marble has loosened and the bark flavour is no longer bitter, just a nice earthiness. The 2019 Pinot Noir Dundee Hills is defined, expressive and layered, with pure lavender, peppercorn and wild berry aromas and a velvety texture with bursts of freshness that highlight floral perfume and an array of spicy accents on the extended finish.

A very pretty combination of dried berries, smoke and cedar with some dried flowers, following through to a medium body, a solid core of fruit and a round yet firm, tannic finish. Young, but so attractive. Give it two or three years to open. Try after 2023.
