The 2020 Sancerre Le Pavé is a round and full bodied Sancerre. The alcohol (14.5%) mutes the floral nuances somewhat and is hot on the finish, cropping the length and the fragrance, knocking the balance out. The textural grip is appealing, and this is clearly a cracking site, but the heat and dry conditions of 2020 overpower the terroir.
