The 2020 Gigondas Lieu-Dit Les Platrières is even better, offering remarkable purity and finesse as well as perfumed aromatics of chocolate covered cherries, rose petals, earthy herbs, and underbrush. Perfectly balanced, layered, and just rock star stuff, it will benefit from just a few years of bottle age and keep for 10-15 if well stored.

Deep, glistening red. Expansive, mineral- and spice-accented red fruit liqueur, incense, cola and garrigue qualities are presented on the powerful, finely detailed nose. Palate-staining cherry pie, raspberry, floral pastille and spicecake flavors show superb energy for their depth. The spice and floral notes drive a seriously long, penetrating finish that's framed by polished, well-knit tannins.
