Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2022-2030, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, May 2022

From a vineyard off Skellinger Lane, plus some barrels declassified from single-vineyard bottlings, Tor's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville offers lovely aromatics, with intricate herbal shadings of sage and bay leaf set against a backdrop of cassis and black cherries. Medium to full-bodied, with silky tannins and a soft finish, it's delicious already, with a decade of gorgeous drinking ahead of it.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville is a supple, easygoing wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. Sweet dried cherry, pipe tobacco, cedar and dried flowers all grace this open-knit, inviting Cabernet Sauvignon from Tor.

Lots of ripe black fruits, roasted herbs, new leather, and lead pencil notes emerge from the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville, a rich, meaty, medium to full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon that picks up some classic Oakville iron and olive notes with air. Jeff and Tor both believe this is the finest vintage for this cuvée they've done, and I'm hard-pressed to argue with them.

97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdo t, mainly from Tierra Roja vineyard but also from Skellenger. This is a barrel selection from both vineyards. The individual lots were fermented on skins for between two and three weeks in small tanks, matured for 20 months in new Taransaud and Darnajou barrels, then bottled without fining or filtration. Inky crimson. Pure cassis and damson aromas, dark, smoky, mineral nose with a touch of stone dust and an impression of dark rocks. Big, dry, compact tannins yet with immense purity and finesse. (JH)
