Good funkiness on the nose, lending that sappy herbal snap to the fruit. Plentiful cherry and redcurrant on the palate. Subtle oak spice on the finish. There is charm and sophistication here. (RH)

Horribly heavy bottle. Lightish ruby. There's something a bit like eucalyptus here as well as the sweetness of red fruits. A little bit confected on the palate – canned strawberries – in the fruit profile though the tannins are lovely: fine and elegant and shaping the fruit. Should age well and has good length but it is pretty expensive. (JH)
Savory notes of cigar tobacco, fresh roses and a fine, spicy edge to sappy red cherries. This is very complex and layered on the nose. The palate has a smooth, fine and elegant yet dense and powerful tannin frame with a supple, even and plush feel and such composure and fruit purity. Impressive. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
