Intensely chocolaty on the nose: hot cocoa, dark chocolate, and Hershey’s syrup. Dusty hay and leather add depth. It explodes on the palate; the rich chocolates are present but compounded by sweet pear cider, grape jelly, and snickerdoodles. The proof is evident but not overwhelming. Water reveals a rich bake shop note, pushing the cocoa flavors from simple chocolate bars to Black Forest cake. Dry and peppery on the long finish. (Release date: 7/24)
