All Syrah brought up in older barrels, the 2018 Côte Rôtie La Dedicace offers a vivid purple hue as well as a brilliant nose of black raspberries, scorched earth, violets, and smoked meats. It shows the rich, sexy, opulent style of the 2018 vintage yet has ripe tannins, wonderful purity, and a great finish. This is ripe, extroverted Côte Rôtie all the way, and while it's already accessible, It's going to evolve for 15 years or more.

Toasty and cedary, Campagneux's 2018 Cote Rotie la Dedicace comes across as a bit simpler and oakier than his Les Grandes Places. It's still impressively dark-fruited, velvety and lush, with plenty of weight, texture, richness and length. It should be approachable on release and drink well for a decade.
