This sole Schaefer Domprobst Kabinett of its vintage leads with scents of zesty citrus, piquantly seed-tinged apple, honeysuckle and wet stone. The palate impression is polished and delicate. Bittersweet nuttiness, mouthwatering salinity, zesty citricity and an impressively decisive sense of stony underpinnings linger on an exhilaratingly buoyant and infectiously juicy finish.

This has very attractive, fresh, rich peaches and fine, stony mineral notes. The palate delivers a salty, tangy feel with fresh, crisp and clean flavors. Nails the brief for great kabinett! Drink now.
The 2018 Graacher Domprobst Riesling Kabinett has a very clear nose with delicate, spring-like aromas of herbs and slate and ripe, elegant fruit. The palate is clear, lush and filigreed and shows a juicy but lithe, bright and very fresh picture-book Kabinett with lingering salinity and ripe, well integrated acidity. Very aromatic aftertaste. Tasted in June 2019.
This smells deeper and a little more savoury than his Graacher Himmelreich, a greater sense of underground minerality. So complex even in youth. Both intense and full of energy, lively, harmonious and yet with a wild streak of adventure, more piercing at the very end. Very persistent and VGV . (JH)
