Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2021-2023, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Jan 2022

The 2018 Condrieu isn't as flamboyant as the exuberant 2019, instead offering a more restrained, linear take on the appellation. While it delivers melon and apricot notes, it's only medium to full-bodied, with a rather phenolic finish.

Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2022-2027, Josh Raynolds, May 2020

Limpid straw-yellow. Incisive aromas of peach, tangerine, honeydew melon and pungent white flowers pick up a hint of honey with aeration. Pliant orchard and pit fruit nectar flavors show impressive depth and slowly become spicier and livelier with air. The floral quality lingers on a very long, seamless finish that shows sharp detail and floral-driven persistence.

Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2020-2025, Jeb Dunnuck, Dec 2019

Moving to the Condrieu releases, the 2018 Condrieu is as classic as it gets, with brilliant orange blossom, tangerine, and white flowers aromas and flavors. It shows the more rounded, supple style of the vintage, is beautifully balanced, and about as satisfying as they come. One of the insider-only producers in Condrieu is Andre Perret, who has a tiny cellar just south of the village of Condrieu. His whites are consistently at the top of the heap in the Northern Rhône, and his reds rarely get the credit and recognition they deserve. You can’t go wrong with any of these wines, and if you have tried a wine from Perret, get out there and find a bottle!

Leafy note with apricot, baked apple and sweet spice. Less viscous than many 2018s. A touch of bitter herbiness to finish. (RH)
