80% Tempranillo with the balance being white varieties, predominantly Viura. Fermented and aged in concrete tanks. Still youthful in the glass. Really vibrant fresh aromatics, cherry and herbal notes mingle beautifully with an ashy (whole-bunch?) smoky note. Has a lightness of touch and a purity of fruit with chalky tannins that are still resolving. Precise acidity adds freshness and verve. Should age well. (AC)

No obvious oak, but plenty of dark fruit and chewy tannins with a peppery finish. This is Rioja à la Hermitage, which makes it pretty tough for me. Husky, harsh, over-extracted. (RH)
