Note di degustazione
All Mendoza clone from vines 20-40 years old and barrel-fermented using indigenous yeasts, the 2017 Chardonnay Moutere continues this wine's successful run. Toasted grain and roasted cashew notes mark the nose, but they're backed by ample pineapple and melon fruit. Medium to full-bodied, this offers great intensity of flavor, richness and length. Just lovely stuff, and still one of the Kiwi classics.

Mendoza clone, picked 31 March to 24 April(!) in very wet conditions. 7% new oak. 100% barrel fermentation. 100% wild yeast. A year on gross lees with monthly batonnage. So much more convincing than the Twenty Five Rows 2017! Rich, firm and silky-textured. A real success for the vintage. The lightest of hints of top quality oak. Polished and refreshing with hints of lime and honey. Bracing and clean as a whistle, even if not amazingly persistent. 362 cases bottled. (JR)
This is a complex and concentrated chardonnay that delivers a strong serving of ripe, fresh yellow peaches with hints of lemon curd, honey and gently biscuity and spicy complexity. The palate has smooth textural build and delivers a vibrant, fleshy core of peach flavor and a beautifully smooth, subtly spicy finish. Drink now. Screw cap.
