Note di degustazione
The 2015 Côtes du Jura Chardonnay Cuvée du Hasard comes from their Les Singuliers range of unusual wines that are not produced every vintage. This could be described as a mini Vin Jaune, dark golden, with a spicy nose and very tasty, salty, long and fresh, with notes of smoky peat, iodine, morels and a touch of curry. It's a Chardonnay from two plots of old vines (60+ years old) planted with a massal selection. It aged for over six years in "ancient" barrels, four of those under a veil of flor yeasts. They seem to do a barrel selection of the ones with better flor and bottled this cuvée, which is pungent and powerful, with 15.3% alcohol from concentration through evaporation, while keeping a very low pH (3.09) and some minor volatility that will lift up the wine. This 2015 was bottled in June 2022 after a very long élevage.

100% Chardonnay, flor aged. Not quite as vivacious and vital as some but certainly a valid style. Mouth-filling with a certain vegy note. (JR)
The complex 2015 Côtes du Jura Chardonnay du Hasard aged for six years in old oak barrels, including four years sous voile . Clocking in an alcohol level of 15.5%, the 2015 entices with pronounced walnut and almond aromas lifted by subtle curry nuances. Full-bodied, concentrated and savory, this is such a tasty long-élevage Chardonnay from the talented Labet siblings.
