Quite an open, spicy wine that\'s easy to enjoy now, but also some positive tannins and a fresh acidity that should carry it at least another five years.

Sourced in Zellenberg, (Grand Cru Froehn), Riquewihr and Hunawihr (Grand Cru Rosacker) and harvested on October 14 (after the harvest in Gevery), the 2015 Pinot Noir Chapelle 1441 is only the second vintage of this remarkable red wine. The grapes were destemmed and macerated during 14 days, with manual punch-downs. Fermented and aged in three Burgundian pièces and a concrete egg, this Pinot opens with clear, deep and spicy, well-concentrated fruit (mainly cherries). Pure, dry, fresh and silky on the palate, with fine tannins, a firm, tension-giving structure and lingering cassis aromas, this is a well-concentrated and straightforward Pinot that should be excellent with many kinds of food.
