2016 1905 Shiraz

Hobbs's 2016 1905 Shiraz is another compelling release from this tiny winery, which seems to be on an incredible roll. Breathtaking levels of concentration and flavor combine with silky tannins and incredible drinkability in this sumptuous wine. Scents of Asian five spice powder, ripe raspberries and cocoa combine on the nose, while the full-bodied, expansive yet structured palate never seems overworked or the slightest bit warm. Cap it all off with a silky finish that lingers for what seems like minutes, and you've got a sure-fire winner, even if it might be difficult to track down (150 cases produced).
