A gem of a Côtes Du Rhône, the 2017 Mon Coeur from the Chave family sports a deep ruby/purple color as well as a ripe, perfumed bouquet of black raspberries, garrigue, melted licorice, and ground pepper. This medium to full-bodied, exuberant, undeniably sumptuous 2017 is ideal for drinking over the coming 5-7 years.

Deep ruby. Pungent red and blue fruit and floral scents are complemented by suggestions of succulent herbs and white pepper. Lively, penetrating and appealingly sweet, showing good depth as well as detail to the black raspberry, cherry and floral pastille flavors. Finishes long and smoky, with supple tannins coming in late.

The Chaves have been growing grapes in the Northern Rhône since 1481. Jean-Louis Chave is the 16th generation to head up the family domaine, having taken over from his father in 1992.
