2015 Maximin Grunhauser Bruderberg Kabinett

A lovely nose of fresh apple garlanded in apple blossom and honeysuckle is followed by a silken, delicate, generously juicy palate in which the fruit is adeptly supported by discreet sweetness. The floral perfume continues inner-mouth for a delectably billowing effect, and the lusciously long finish features a sense of transparency to wet stone and tinglingly gingery nuances that were missing from the dry wines of the present collection.

The 2015 Maximin Grünhäuser Bruderberg Riesling Kabinett is clear, fresh, pure and flinty on the nicely reductive nose. Light and round on the palate, this is a finesse-full and elegant Ruwer Riesling with a good mineral structure and a piquantly fruity finish (think of the acidity and lush character of pineapples!). This Kabinett drinks very well today because it is not very racy.

Fruity and herbaceous aromas share the honours in the fresh fragrance of the Bruderberg Kabinett. The flavour shows a good concentration of fruit from apple to orange including splashes of zesty bitter peel. Animating acidity keeps the taste lively, the residual sugar does not overplay its hand.
