Note di degustazione
Deep, bright-rimmed ruby. Aromas of cherry pie, dark berries and candied licorice are lifted and sharpened by a smoky mineral note. Energetic and chewy on the palate, offering appealingly sweet blueberry, cherry and floral pastille flavors that stretch out slowly and become deeper with aeration. Fine-grained tannins build steadily on a very long, floral-dominated finish that shows excellent delineation and mineral thrust.

A burly, rustic wine that's pushing 14.5% alcohol, the 2017 Brouilly Cuvée Vieilles Vignes exhibits aromas of ripe plums, cherry and kirsch. On the palate, it's full-bodied, rich and chewy, with an ample core of concentrated fruit and firm structuring tannins. It will mellow with bottle age, but I suspect it will always remain a rather chunky vintage of Dutraive's Brouilly.
