Note di degustazione
Dark purple. Fresh blackberry and dried cherry aromas are complicated by suggestions of Asian spices, fennel and dried flowers. Taut, sharply focused red and dark berry flavors gain weight and flesh with air, with an intense mineral element adding lift. Fine-grained tannins add grip to the spicy, floral finish, which leaves a gentle smoky note behind.

The 2012 Cornas les Eygats is more lean and narrow, with pretty notes of crushed rock, leather and cassis fruit flowing to a focused, medium-bodied, tannic palate. There's plenty to like here, but it could use more concentration, depth and richness. Drink it over the coming 5-8 years.
Vivid purple. Pungent aromas of blackcurrant, plum, smoky minerals and licorice are complicated by a sexy floral quality. Nicely delineated and concentrated, offering ripe cassis and cherry compote flavors with a touch of spicecake. Finishes with firm tannic grip, mounting sweetness and an echo of minerality, which adds vibrancy and lift. Shows the elegant side of Cornas but is by no means wimpy.
