2015 Baden Blauer Spatburgunder Jaspis Alte Reben

The 2015 Jaspis Spätburgunder Alte Reben opens deep, pure and ripe on the quite open, warm and fruity yet elegant and refined nose. Full-bodied, smooth and round on the palate, this is a wide, intense and sweet, super ripe and elegant Pinot Noir (a.k.a. Spätburgunder) from 50+-year-old vines. The tannins are supple and fine, and still the wine lacks the tension and grip I expect from a really great Pinot. However, the wine is long and intense and will age many years. 12.5% alcohol.
