Note di degustazione
While I loved the 2006 Gigondas, and I'd happily drink bottles today, this funky, exotic red won't be for everyone. Mint, cassis, currants, leafy green herbs, spice and funky earth all emerge from the glass of this medium-bodied, elegant Gigondas that shows the more wild, feral side of the appellation. Like all of these cuvees, it's from tiny yields (26 hectoliters per hectare) and is 70% Grenache, 15% Cinsault, 14% Syrah and the rest Mourvedre, aged all in foudre. It's fully mature and ready to go, but should keep nicely for 3-5 years.

Deep red. An impressively complex bouquet offers aromas of raspberry, cherry, apricot, nutmeg and potpourri, with a gentle smoky note adding interest. Supple, seamless red and dark berry flavors stain the palate, with tangy minerality providing bite. The apricot note echoes through the long, spicy finish. A very intriguing wine.
CS Wild and wild berry fruit on the nose. No shortage of garrigue character. Almost more like a Zinfandel than a Grenache! Perfect for those looking for a real hit of herbiness. A strong statement. Only just civilised! (JR)
Deep, saturated ruby. Exotically perfumed nose shows potent raspberry, apricot, garrigue and rose scents. Lush and creamy, with sweet red fruit liqueur flavor, medium weight and strikingly silky tannins. Picks up suave minerality on the long, sappy finish. Offers outstanding potential.
