Note di degustazione
Bright purple. Powerful, highly perfumed aromas of black and blue fruit liqueur, olive and potpourri, along with mineral and floral overtones. Stains the palate with juicy cassis and boysenberry flavors, while a sweet violet pastille nuance lends an exotic touch. Youthful tannins lend shape a very long, chewy, mineral-accented finish that shows outstanding power and repeating florality.

The star of the show in 2014 is the opaque, ruby/purple-colored 2014 Ermitage Le Méal, which comes from one of the warmest terroirs on Hermitage Hill. Completely destemmed and aged in 20% new barrels, it offers full-bodied richness, terrific concentration, fine tannin and straight-up fabulous notes of roasted meats, black raspberries, licorice and toasted bread. I’d happily drink bottles today, but it will cruise for another 10-15 years.
