2015 C Blanc du Castel

The 2015 Chardonnay Blanc du Castel was aged in French oak (one-third new) for approximately one year. Showing just a hint of smoke, but seeming quite clean in its youth, this has a touch of cream as well, but it integrates the oak very well. Overall, it has fine depth. Its depth and seeming richness are its hallmarks this year. It fills the mouth and coats the palate. If it is not overly subtle, it is rather sexy for this bottling. At the moment, its balance is still very fine; hopefully, that will continue. This is a Castel that looks like a big winner.
