Note di degustazione
A full-bodied red with velvety tannins and plenty of currant and mint character. Chewy and slightly dry finish. Needs drinking, but beautiful.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Cabernets Larose opens with crushed black currants, fragrant blackberries and mulberries on the nose with hints of bay leaves, forest floor, loam and pencil shavings. Medium-bodied and packed with taut, muscular black fruits, it has a solid frame of chewy tannins and lively acid, finishing with lingering earth and herbal layers.
(14.1% alcohol; aged in 65% new oak): Bright red-ruby. Very primary nose opens with air to show scents of blackberry, black cherry, cassis and cool graphite minerality, plus a note of tobacco leaf. Densely packed wine with very good lift and grip to its dark berry, dark chocolate and exotic oak flavors. Finishes with big tongue-dusting tannins that will need aging. (My early look at the 2015 from barrel, which includes a sizable 20% Petit Verdot component, showed terrific spicy depth to its dark berry, licorice, wild herb and menthol flavors as well as excellent delineation and energy. This rich but classically dry Bordeaux blend offers 90-92 potential.)
