The 2017 Chardonnay has a bright citrus peel nose with touches of crushed stone and honeysuckle. Over the course of two hours it gains intensity and cohesion. The palate is very well balanced with fleeting tropical notes that want to take over the show, but the terroir moderates any exoticism to retain nervosité through to the finish. Excellent.

Yeah! The 2017 Chardonnay begins with a solid nose. Everything that you would hope for in a Chardonnay translates from the nose to the palate—oak tones of cinnamon, followed by fresh-cut apples, lemon blossoms, with a soft nuttiness and toasted brioche. The palate shows a focused balance with a medium to full body. It has depth, texture and breadth along with elegance and finesses and finishes with a long, velvety yet powerful finish. All around, an impressive wine with 17,000 bottles being produced.
Utterly engaging – combines vivid fruit with smoke, cereal, toast and oyster-shell minerality. Grown-up Chardonnay, and that smoky length is gorgeous. Lots of oak influence on the finish, but by no means overdone. (RH)
