Barrel sample. Deep cherry red. Intense but not yet singing from the glass. Deep and dark-fruited. Opens to really pure dark fruit. Rich and dense, almost leathery on the palate. Really chewy texture compared with other 2017s. Needs much more time. But it has everything in embryo. (JH)
