Two barrels. Barrel sample. Intense spice and dark fruit. A little more savoury than the Chambertin. Much more chewy and with a chalky/rocky mineral darkness. Beautifully fresh but not as prancing in its aroma. A serious, besuited and fine-framed wine with sweet dark fruit flooding in on the finish. Many-layered. (JH)
