2015 Yarra Valley Nebbiolo

Brilliant red. A suave, complex bouquet evokes fresh red fruits, candied rose and succulent herbs, along with subtle licorice and smoky mineral flourishes. Appealingly sweet, incisive and light on its feet, offering intense red currant, cherry and floral pastille flavors and a touch of Amaro-like bitterness on the back half. The red fruit quality drives a very long, nervy finish that's framed by dusty, well-knit tannins. Not many New World versions of this variety grab my attention but this one sure does.
