Note di degustazione
Light, bright straw-yellow. A deeply perfumed bouquet evokes pear and peach nectar, honey, vanilla, toasted almond and smoky minerals. Rich and fleshy but lively as well, offering sappy orchard, pit fruit and marzipan flavors that are braced by a spine of juicy acidity. Finishes chewy, focused and long, with lingering pear, honey notes and a hint of anise.

I was blown away by the potential of the 2016 Hermitage Blanc. All barrel-fermented Marsanne from the lieux-dits of Les Beaumes and Les Diognières, it takes notes of crushed stone and offsets them with hints of honeyed melon, then provides energy and length with citrus zest and brine. Delicious now, expect it to close down shortly after release but then gradually open and add truffled notes as it ages up to 20 years from the vintage.
