Note di degustazione
From a southeast-facing vineyard that is picked pretty late for this style, the 2017 Oberhäuser Leistenberg Riesling Kabinett is lush and piquant on the nose that offers ripe but fresh and clear fruit intertwined with piquant stone and herbal aromas. Beautiful. Salty-piquant and pretty intense and even concentrated on the palate, this is another picture-book Leistenberg from the Dönnhoffs, though its quite ripe and intense as well. But it's still singing. Tasted in July 2019.

Scents of apple and black raspberry anticipate the invigorating tang and crunch that arrive on a firm, buoyant palate. A hint of anise adds to the appeal, while an undertone of wet stone serves as a sounding board for the fruit in a brightly-sustained, unapologetically sweet finish.
RS 43 g/l, TA 9 g/l. The Dönnhoffs are not demonstrative and do not make loud wines. This is one of the most elegant Kabinetts you could find, but you have to ponder over the nose and savour it on the palate to detect the filigree aromas of local orchard fruit, hint of citrus and delicate nuance of graphite minerality. Perfect balance of residual sugar and acidity is a given. The deep thinker’s Kabinett. (MS)
Year in, year out, Dönnhoff’s Leistenberg challenges for the title of Kabinett of the year. Never one to overpower the sensory perception, it teases with delicate delights of zesty citrus fruit, a gentle floral whisper and racy acidity to get the salivary glands contracting. (MS)
