Note di degustazione
Deep brilliant violet. Mineral-accented blackberry and cherry aromas are complemented by a sexy floral note and a hint of licorice. Sappy, incisive and appealingly sweet, offering energetic black and blue fruit and violet pastille flavors and a jolt of peppery spices. Finishes sweet and long, displaying smoky mineral and spice notes and smooth tannins.

Moving to the 2016s from bottle, the 2016 Côte Rôtie Löss is the most mid-weight in the lineup, with a slightly earthier style in its black fruits, peppery herbs, truffle, and gamey aromas and flavors. With moderate tannins, medium body, and nicely integrated acidity, it needs a year or two of bottle age, then should be drunk over the following 7-8 years.
The 2016 Cote Rotie Loss offers up attractive aromas of black olives, cassis and a hint of bacon. Medium to full-bodied, firm and tannic, it deserves to be put aside for 3-4 years to allow some of those chewy tannins to resolve.
