Fermented in neutral barrels and vats, aged in bottle. No chaptalisation. Sweet and rich and lychee juice, but fresher than expected. (JR)

Entirely from the Sporen, the 2009 Gewurztraminer Vendange Tardive offers an intense, clear, fresh and spicy bouquet with grapefruit and cumin aromas. Rich and elegant, this is a very intense and juicy, well-balanced undercover Sporen provided with a fine tannin grip and a long and mineral aftertaste. Really stimulating. Picked with "almost no botrytis" at 17.2% potential alcohol and bottled with 100 grams of residual sugar. Tasted in April 2017.
(11.3% alcohol, 98 g/l r.s. and 4.7 acidity) Fairly pale color. Polite, scented aromas of rose petal and cinnamon. Rich and pure but subdued, with a rather ethereal character for a VT. Sweet, lush apricot, peach and spice flavors seem quite easygoing today, with harmonious acidity giving the wine shape. Not the last word in complexity but delicious from day one.
