Punteggio 88/100 · Da bere 2018-2021, Neal Martin, Nov 2018

The 2016 Kiwa Single Vineyard Pinot Noir has a refined blackberry and raspberry bouquet with subtle hints of brown spice. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, a touch of espresso permeating the dark berry fruit with a little white pepper towards the finish. Drink this now and over the next two or three years.

Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2018-2023, Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate, Feb 2018

Even more savory and earthy than the other Escarpment wines, the 2016 Kiwa Pinot Noir hints at mushrooms and leather, while the fruit remains in the background. It's medium-bodied but without the concentration and ripeness I expect to find in these wines. It's still an attractive wine with silky tannins and a lingering finish, just somewhat outside the norm at this address.
