Note di degustazione
A barrel-aged blend of 52% Marsanne and 48% Roussanne, the 2016 Saint Joseph Blanc shows some attractive, developed notes of honey and marmalade. Dried citrus appears on the medium-bodied palate, drawing to a silky close on the long finish. Drink now.

Light bright yellow. Tangerine, pear skin and a gingery nuance on the mineral-accented nose. Silky and seamless in texture, offering vibrant orchard fruit and lemon zest flavors that spread out and become more succulent with air. Picks up a hint of fennel on the finish, which hangs on with strong, mineral-tinged persistence.
In addition to the two Condrieu, Montez makes a fresh, lively Saint Joseph, which I believe comes from vines in the northern part of the appellation, around the estate. His 2016 Saint Joseph Blanc is ripe and slightly honeyed, with lots of melon, apple and citrus aromas and flavors. Lively and fresh on the palate, with good acidity and a great finish, drink it over the coming 3-5 years.
