Not quite as rich as their Steinertal, but still brimming with cooked citrus fruit and lovely honeyed notes. Attractive salinity on the finish. Very impressive and layered on the length. (RH)

The 2016 Ried Loibenberg Riesling Smaragd is stunningly precise, cool and fresh on the nose where mango, passion fruit and yellow nectarine flavors are displayed. On the palate, this is a full-bodied, piquant and concentrated Riesling with a tight structure, lovely grip and tension from healthy, crisp skins. This is a great Loibenberg that just needs 5-7 years to shine. Tasted as a sample in July 2017.
