(made from purchased fruit; all concrete vats): Youthful purple. A spice-accented bouquet evokes fresh dark berries, licorice and black pepper and a touch of olive paste in the background. Lively and focused on the palate, offering zesty blackberry and bitter cherry flavors and a strong jolt of cracked pepper. Closes spicy and long, with strong, juicy lift and gentle tannic grip.

Dark cherry red. Dark fruit and a little charry/smoky but that doesn't dominate the peppery black fruit. Supple and very light tannins with that note of char on the palate too. Elegant and delicate, especially compared with archetypal Crozes. (JH)
