In the same ballpark as the 2016, the 2015 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Les Trois Marie is a magical wine that offers everything you could want from this region. Based on 65% Grenache and 35% Syrah brought up in a mix of Burgundy barrels and foudre, it offers a more mineral-driven, complex style compared to the sexier 2016 and has complex blue fruits, dried earth, garrigue, and obvious minerality. Deep, full-bodied, concentrated, and multi-dimensional on the palate, with flawless balance and remarkable purity, it’s an awesome wine from winemaker Jean-Roger Calvet that’s going to evolve gracefully for 15 years or more.

Giving up utterly profound notes of black raspberries, licorice, toasted spice and that chocolaty minerality only found from this region, it has a huge palate, sweet tannin and a finish that won't quit. This should flirt with perfection at maturity, and while it doesn’t come cheap (there’s a scant 200 cases made), don’t miss a chance to latch onto a few bottles!
